Ergonomics

Worksafe Iowa ergonomics specialists focus on fitting the job task to the worker. This process involves risk factor identification, ergonomic job analysis, solution development, and education. We emphasize a train-the-trainer approach or “participatory ergonomics,” to help cultivate in-house ergonomics expertise. This expertise helps to prevent common ergonomic problems such as back injuries and cumulative trauma disorders. The Ergonomics Research Facility at the UI College of Public Health provides Worksafe Iowa clients access to state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to address specific ergonomic issues.
